One of region’s most accomplished amateur players – of any era; tournament successes included: four-time New England Public Links champion; 11-time Springfield Newspapers city public links winner; won club championships at Franconia GC (nine), Memorial GC and Oxford CC; caddied at Oxford CC; longtime greenskeeper at Elmcrest CC; served overseas in U.S. Army and veteran of D-Day and Omaha Beach invasion; passed away at age 89 in 2000.
