One of most successful professional golfers from greater Springfield area and longtime club pro; played on PGA Tour during mid-1950s, competed at four PGA Championships and multiple U.S. Opens; four-time champion of Connecticut Section PGA championship; two time champion of the Connecticut PGA Senior Championship head professional at Oxford (1958-64) and Chicopee CC (1965-79), and later a teaching pro at Springfield CC; served in Pacific during World War II with U.S. Navy; died at age 77 in 2002.
